Review of Maternity Pads
In this review, I’d like to tackle an issue that no one likes to talk about much. How do you tackle postpartum bleeding, particularly if you had to have an episiotomy while giving birth?
A maternity pad is the best way to stop postpartum bleeding from leaking uncomfortably onto your clothes, sheets, and even causing unnecessary chafing. This specialized pad maternity from Covidien is one of the best products I’ve found because it is extra absorbent, prevents strike through and is comfortable to wear.
What is a maternity pad and how does it differ from a regular period pad?
- Maternity pads need to be stronger than regular period pads because women often pass clots postpartum.
- Maternity pads are softer than regular pads because women are tender and sensitive after giving birth.
- Maternity pads need to be more absorbent than regular pads.
It’s not the most glamorous product to review, but totally necessary for anyone who’s just had a baby. Today, we take a look at the features of one of the most trusted brands of maternity pads. We also welcome our fabulous guest reviewer, Johanna Weber. Enjoy!
Introducing America’s most trusted Maternity Pads from Covidien
These pads are designed especially to control postpartum bleeding. It is important that if the bleeding ever becomes heavy or is accompanied by intense pain, you should contact your health professionals.
This specialized maternity pad from Covidien features:
- An exceptionally soft contact area.
- A unique barrier to stop moisture leakage.
- The maximum possible absorbency.]
A number of reviewers have found it hard to see the difference between this maternity pad and regular sanitary pads you find in the grocery store. The main reason for this is that they’re unaware of the invisible differences between the two. These maternity pads are excellent and I’d recommend them to any woman experiencing postpartum bleeding, particularly if she needed a surgical procedure during birth.
These pads come in three convenient packs of fourteen, equalling a total of 14 pads, so you’ll be completely covered for a regular period of postpartum bleeding. If you’ve had a minor surgical procedure during labor, such as an episiotomy, you may need more than one shipment of Covidien Maternity Pads.

I bled quite heavily and steadily for about the first three weeks after my baby was born and these pads were an absolute lifesaver for me. They are super absorbent, feel comfortable to wear, and you can rely on them not leaking. There is no reason to make a time that is already exhausting and, at times, confusing, any more difficult than it needs to be! Enjoy your newborn in comfort and confidence!
I absolutely recommend these maternity pads to any new mother with postpartum bleeding. They are far superior to regular menstrual pads. I’m giving them a five-star rating.
