When you get to 6 months pregnant, your baby bump will be very noticeable and it will be affecting almost every aspect of your life. At the end of this month you’ll enter the third trimester and start counting down to delivery!
At 6 months pregnant, the baby’s organs and lungs are functioning well enough that, if you delivered prematurely, he or she could survive with intensive care. However, it is fairly rare to go into labor this early in pregnancy. If you’re like most women, you can look forward to another 3 months of being pregnant.

6 Months Pregnant Symptoms:
There are a few uncomfortable symptoms at 6 months pregnant. Your baby is gaining around half a pound a week and the extra weight, the hard working hormones, and the increased blood-flow can play havoc with the rest of your body.
Common symptoms include:
- A weakened bladder
- Back and calf pain
- Sciatica (shooting nerve pain).
Try and stay as active as possible as it will help to ease most of these symptoms. Add a bit more fiber to your diet to avoid constipation – it could make things even more uncomfortable.
6 Months Pregnant Baby Size:
- At 6 months pregnant Baby is about as long as an ear of corn and weighs a pound and a half.
- By the time you’re 6 and a half months pregnant, he or she will be about the size of a chuck roast and weigh 2 pounds.
- At the end of this month, your baby will be more than 2 pounds and approximately 15 inches long.
6 Months Pregnant Baby Position:
You may find that you start to feel some strain on your lower back, pressure on your bladder, or heartburn, because of the way your baby is positioned in the womb. A six-month check-up could be in order to make sure that everything’s as it should be.
